On Tuesday September 28, 2021, Margaret M. Siver (92) passed away peacefully, with family by her side, after a short stay at St. Peter's Hospital. She was just six days shy of her 93rd birthday.
Margaret was born October 4, 1928 in Ticonderoga, NY. She was the daughter of Anthony and Beulah (Thebert) Arthur and sister of Francis Arthur and Edward Arthur. Margaret grew up in the small town of Witherbee, NY and graduated from Mineville High School in 1946, near the top of her class. She went on to attend Albany Business College and later to work at the Army Depot in Voorheesville, NY. It was while working there that she met her husband, William J. Siver. She married Bill on January 28, 1951, settled in Guilderland, NY (where she resided for the remainder of her life) and had three children: Linda, Pamela, and Bill.
After raising her children Margaret worked for many years at Trans World Entertainment where she was employed full-time until her retirement at the age of 75. Hardworking, good-natured and kind, Margaret was loved by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Although she suffered more loss throughout her life than one should, she remained an extremely strong woman who was a source of consistent love and support for her entire family. She was a merry-hearted soul who loved animals, exercise, and of course, her wine.
Margaret was preceded in death by both her parents, Anthony Arthur and Beulah Arthur (Thebert), her brother Francis Arthur, her husband William J. Siver, her daughter Pamela Peterson (Siver), and her son William A. Siver. She is survived by her loving brother Edward Arthur (Mary Jane), her sister-in-law Rose DeLuca; her daughter Linda McGrath (Dan), her son-in-law Craig Peterson; her grandchildren: Cory Peterson (Alli), Shaunna Lucas (Wes), Melissa Johnson (Joseph), and Brandon Siver; and her great-grandchildren: Adley Peterson, Charley Peterson, Logan Johnson, Carmela Johnson, Hattie Johnson, and Michaela Lucas. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and her caring neighbor, Paul Carusone, who was a helpful friend until the very end.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday October 5, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie, NY 12205. A memorial service will immediately follow. Interment will be held privately.
