Margaret Steele

Guilderland- Margaret C. Steele, 78, passed away at the Whittier Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Hudson, NY on Sunday, March 26, 2006. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, the daughter of the late Thomas and Annie Paterson, Margaret immigrated to the United States in 1929. Margaret moved from Queens, NY to the Guilderland area in 1992. She was very active in the Guilderland Senior Center, where she had many friends. Margaret had a great love for her family and enjoyed happy times with her grandchildren. Margaret is predeceased by her husband Jack Steele.
Margaret is survived by her six children, Michael Steele, John Steele, Joanne Fernandez Steele, Agnes Bailey, Eileen Filardo and Charles Steele, her two daughter-in-laws, Vicky Steele and Brenda Steele, and her two son-in-laws, Anthony Fernandez and Joseph Filardo. She is also survived by her eleven grandchildren, Margaret Ann, Naomi, Samantha, Jessica, Justin, Eric, Brendan, Peter, Alyssa, Joseph and Mason, three great-grandchildren, Justin, Tobin and Alex, her sister Agnes Carey and two nieces, one nephew and several cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 6:00 PM at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Guilderland Senior Center, C/O Guilderland Town Hall, P.O. Box 339, 5209 Western Avenue, Guilderland, NY 12084, in memory of Margaret C. Steele.
