Margery Wells

Schenectady – Margery K. Wells, 89, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2014 at Kingsway Arms Nursing Center surrounded by her loving family. Born in Geneseo, IL, she is the daughter of the late Walton and Nell Kay.

After graduating from Kansas State Teachers College, Margery moved to Schenectady and worked as a Lab Assistant for General Electric before retiring to adopt and raise her four children. She was very involved with her church for much of her life and also enjoyed cooking, sewing, playing bridge and travelling with her family.

Margery is survived by her children, Scott Wells, Loretta Mabie, Robin (Michael) Rafferty and Katherine (Michael) Luciano; and her sister Phyllis Begens. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Margery was predeceased by her husband, Richard J. Wells; her son-in-law Gary Mabie and two grandchildren.

Memorial calling hours will be held for Margery on Saturday October 11th from 10 – 11 a.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow the calling hours at 11 a.m.
