Margo Gonzalez

Albany – Marguerite "Margo" Gonzalez, 80, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 8, 2008 at Albany Memorial Hospital surrounded by loving her family.

Margo was born in Ithaca, NY the daughter of the late William and Agnes (Connor) Morris. She attended Immaculate Conception Elementary School and graduated from Ithaca High School in 1945. Margo married Candido "Pepe" Gonzalez in September 3, 1949. Margo and Pepe were happily married until his death in 1995.

Margo was always actively involved in the Catholic Church. In Ithaca, she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society of Immaculate Conception Church and locally she worked at the Teresian House as a Therapist Aide from 1980 to 1993, and was recognized in 1991 for her dedicated service. She was also a wonderful homemaker who raised her children in the church. Music and especially the piano played a large role in Margo's life. She taught piano, from home, throughout her life including teaching her own children and many of the neighborhood children.

She is survived by her children; Rickie F. (Diane) , David M. (Sandy), Donna Marie (fiancée Philip Connell) and Shawn R. (Pennie), her grandchildren; Matthew, Justin, Jason, Christopher, Michael, Megan, Joshua, Ryan and Brendan, sister; Miriam Domres of Syracuse and sister-in-law; Jenny Morris of Ithaca and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Tuesday 9:00am from New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt 155 south of Central Ave.) then to St. Frances de Sales Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am. Calling hours will be Monday 4:00 to 7:00pm at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Memory's Garden Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Teresian House.
