Albany – Marguerite T. Mullin, affectionately known as Marty, entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 13, 2015 peacefully at the Teresian House in Albany. She was 95 years old.
The daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (McDonald) DeRusso, she was born on January 29, 1920 in Albany, NY. She graduated in 1938 from Vincentian Institute in Albany. For a time, Marty was a proud member of the Albany Light Opera company. She married Raymond M. Mullin, Sr. on March 29, 1949 in Albany.
A feisty woman, Marty was a compassionate and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She had a great love for butterflies. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Marty is survived by her children: Raymond, Jr. (Mary Anne Hart), Kevin (Millie), Terry Herbert (Kerry), Peggy Goulet (Ron), and Patrick (Lucinda); 15 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Marty was predeceased by her husband Raymond, Sr.; her son Dennis; and her 4 siblings.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 pm on Wednesday, February 18 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Thursday, February 19 at Teresian House, 200 Washington Ave Ext., burial will follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
Marty's family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Teresian House for their compassionate care, especially her nurse Tina.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Marty's name to the Teresian House, 200 Washington Ave., Albany, NY 12203.
