ALBANY- Maria Cesare Anastasio, 92, of Albany passed away on Wednesday May 25, 2005 surrounded by her loving family, after a brief illness. She was born in Sicily, Italy and immigrated to the United States in 1956.
Mrs. Anastasio was a seamstress for Flah's Department Store in Albany for many years, before her retirement. She was a longtime communicant of St. Vincent De Paul Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Benedetto Anastasio and her daughter in law Joann Ricupero Anastasio.
She is the beloved mother of Salvatore Anastasio (Angelina), Joseph Anastasio ((Helen) and Larry Anastasio (Antonietta). Maria is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is the sister of Teresa Cirincione and Francesca Schittino (Inga) both of Italy and the late Vincent and Pino Cesare, Santa Lisuzzo and Rosina Correnti.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 10:00 at St. Vincent DePaul Church, Madison Ave @ Partridge Street, Albany. Calling hours will held Friday evening at the Church from 7 to 9 pm . Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Church, 900 Madison Ave Albany NY 12208 or to Childs Nursing Home, 25 Hackett Blvd. Albany NY 12208 in memory of Mrs. Anastasio.
