Albany- Maria Fazio, 87, died suddenly on Sunday, February 20, 2005 at St. Peter's Hospital. Born in Bristol, Rhode Island she was the daughter of the late Antonino and Francesca Foti. Before settling down with her family, Maria had worked for J. DeBeer and Son in West Albany for 10 years. She loved cooking for her husband and family. Maria is predeceased by her beloved husband Tindaro Fazio. She is also predeceased by her five brothers; Frank, Augustino, Andrea, Giovanni, and Carmello Foti, and her sister Concetta Milici.
Maria is survived by her two sons; Salvatore N. Fazio and wife Mafalda, and Antonio Fazio and wife Mary, her daughter Catherine Micari and husband Joseph, her four grandchildren; Tindaro, Maria, Anthony, and Marcello, and her six great-grandchildren; Francesca, Christopher, Antonino, Mariah, Marcello Christian, and Luciano. She is also survived by her sister Nina Quevin of Columbus, Ohio, and many nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, February 23rd at 9:00 AM at Holy Cross Church, Albany. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 7 Washington Square, Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Maria Fazio.
