Maria Mantova, 90, of Albany, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2021 at her residence.
Maria was born in Siderno, Italy, on June 10, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Domenico and Caterina Mazzone.
Maria immigrated from Italy to New York in 1968. She worked in the family owned grocery store, Dante's Market in Albany and was later employed by the NYS Thruway Authority.
She enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Dante, and son Roberto.
Maria is survived by her sons Joseph (Alba) Mantova, and Dominick (Joann) Mantova, grandchildren Joseph (Nicole) Mantova Jr, Gabriella (Justin) Wallace, Sabrina (Miro) Mantova Teodosievski, Antony Mantova, great grandchildren Isabella Mantova, Justin Wallace, Juliana Wallace, Alessia Teodosievski, Victoria Mantova, Emma Teodosievski, sisters Adelina (Giovanni) Marando and Giuseppina Mazzone as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family in Italy.
A Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, 9:00 am at the All Saints Catholic Church, 16 Homestead Street, Albany NY.
Social distancing practices will be in effect, masks are required in the building.
Interment to follow in the Our Lady of Angels Cemetery .
