Maria L. Mendoza

Maria born in Tabay, Merida State, Venezuela, a rural farming area. She has special memories of her siblings, who passed while they were still young. At age 15, Maria moved to Caracas to work. That is where she met her husband Blas Arturo. They were married on September 30, 1942 when she was 17. Together for almost 65 years, they raised five sons and five daughters.

Maria enjoyed being a homemaker. She loved to cook for family gatherings, especially at Christmas time. Maria also enjoyed sewing and taking care of her house plants.. She has 23 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

In 2015 Maria came to the United States to live with her daughter Aida. She adored family gatherings and reminiscing with her family. She also like to play dominoes, watching TV and listening to music.

Maria passed away peacefully on April 22, 2022.

A calling hour will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 from 12-1pm at the funeral home

A service will begin at 1pm with interment following at Albany Rural Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Shaker Place.
