GUILDERLAND – Maria G. Pangie, 86, of Guilderland, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2006, surrounded by the love and prayers of her family. Born in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Iginia Pangia. Mrs. Pangie had lived in the Schenectady and Guilderland area for most of her life. She was a communicant of St. Madeleine Sophie Church. Mrs. Pangie loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. Maria was the beloved wife of the late Carlo A. Pangie. She is the devoted mother of Mary Winters and her husband, John of Guilderland, Francis Pangie and his wife, Suzanne of Charlton and Caroline Schwartz and her husband, James of Guilderland. She is the cherished grandmother of Maurisa (Terrence) Rathwell of Guilderland, John (Jennifer) Winters III, of Saratoga, Joseph (Kelly) Winters of Saratoga, Benjamin and Justin Pangie of Charlton and Christopher, Andrea and Nicholas Schwartz of Guilderland. Maria is the loving great-grandmother of Brandon, Victoria and Travis Rathwell and Talia and Kendall Winters. She is the sister of Sr. Anita Ermana Pangia of Campobosso, Italy and the late Rosina Celenza.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday morning at 10:00 at St. Madeleine Sophie Church, Guilderland. Calling hours will be Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
