Maria Lourdes P. Rico Gonzalez

Maria Lourdes Rico Gonzalez, 59, passed away Sunday, August 1, 2021 with her loving family by her side. Maria was the daughter of Nicolas Rico and Josefina Gonzalez. Maria was the devoted wife to Humberto Terrones Maldonado. They were together for 28 years.

Lourdes was an avid reader and supporter of environmental causes. She enjoyed gardening and taking care of all kinds of flowers and plants. She liked to exercise with activities like yoga and swimming..

Lourdes loved traveling to appreciate and understand different cultures and traditions; she was a keen visitor of museums and adored opera and classical music. Her favorite operas were La Traviata, Rigoletto, Madame Butterfly, Carmen, Turandot, Don Giovani and Aida.

Lourdes is survived by her husband Humberto; her parents, Josefina and Nicolas; her sisters, Soledad, Maru, Paty and Gris and her brothers, Sergio, Juan, Ariel, Mario and Roberto.

Lourdes is predeceased by her brothers, Octavio and Humberto.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, on Saturday, August 14, 2021 from 12:00 to 2:00 pm.
