Maria Ricupero

ALBANY – Maria Ricupero, 99, of Albany, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday September 9, 2013 after a brief illness.
Born in Locri Italy, she was the daughter of the late Domenico and Giovanna Cavaleri Bumbaca. Maria is predeceased by her husband Cosimo Ricupero, her daughter Giovanna Anasatasio, her grandson John DiCarlo and her sisters Giuseppina Bruzzese, Francesca Lacopo and Angelina Bumbaca.
She is survived by her children Carmela (Sante) DiCarlo, Carlo (late wife Rosa) Ricupero, Esterina Ricupero, Angela (George) Pauley, Frank (Elizabeth) Ricupero, Marisa (Chris) Traynor and Rosalia (Andre) LaBier and her brother Vincent Baumbaca. Nonna, as she was referred to enjoyed cooking, gardening and being with her ever-growing family of 21 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday morning at 8:30 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie then to Mater Christi Parish at 9:30 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie. Memorial contributions may be made to Mater Christi Parish, 40 Collins Place, Albany, NY 12208 in memory of Maria Ricupero.
