Troy-- Maria Lee Wagner, 80, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home after a valiant fight with cancer on December 3, 2017.
She had survived her two earlier battles with cancer over the past 20 years.
Maria attended schools in New Jersey, Albany and Troy, including Russell Sage College.
Maria's extensive career included bacteriologist for the City of Albany, Rensselaer County Health Department Laboratory and Albany Medical Center.
She is survived by her constant companion Donald Perrott and her loving family – her only daughter Kathryn Walter (Jonathan), granddaughter Kelly and grandson Ian.
Maria was an accomplished cook who loved to share her passion for cooking with others. She enjoyed hosting lavish dinner parties. She lived her life with gusto and passion and was always surrounded by her beloved Yorkies – Jerry and Charlie.
Donations may be made to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, in memory of Maria Wagner and her Yorkies, but more importantly she has asked that we say prayers.
