Marian Fields

Marian A. Fields, 66, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2016 with her loving family by her side. Marian was the daughter of the late John and Ruth Sawyer. Marian was the devoted wife to the late Michael Fields of 13 years.

Marian was raised in Queens, New York, she graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and Logos Bible College and moved to Albany in 1974, where she raised her family. Marian was a prayer warrior of the Reigning Life Family Church. Marian enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed tending her garden of which she took great pride. Marian loved to decorate her surroundings every holiday.
Marian worked for Albany Medical Center as a Medical Claim Analyst for 26 years. Marian was a true matriarch, overly protective of her family.

Marian is survived by her son, Michael A. Fields, daughter, Marleen A. Fields (DeVon Jones), and son, Marc A. Fields; grandchildren, Markia, Miyona, Maneif, Mickyra, Markeyona, Ahunglique, DeVon, and Marc, Jr.; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sisters, Bernice Evans, Jacqueline Raysor and brother, John Sawyer.

Along with her late husband and parents, Marian is predeceased by her brother, Francis Haymer.

Calling hours will be on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. A funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home at 2:00 pm.
