Mariano (Marius) Longo

Marius Longo, 92, husband of the late Domenica Cannavo Longo, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, with his children by his bedside.

Born November 17, 1930, in Barcellona, Sicily, Italy, he was the son the late Joseph and Rose Torre Longo.

As a boy, he and his Mother joined his Father in the United States. In 1950, Marius graduated from Philip Schuyler High School. For the majority of his career he worked various positions for GE in Schenectady, NY. In his spare time he enjoyed reading (mostly the Bible), gardening, playing the piano, a little vino, puttering around the house, and attending Church (PTL).

Marius is survived by his children, Roseann Longo and Joseph M. (Carol) Longo; his grandchildren, Apollonia and Adam Longo; his brother, David (Elisa) Longo; as well as many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed, but we know he is "still kicking," just heaven-side.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brother Joseph S. Longo.

Calling hours will take place on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 from 10:00am – 11:00am with a service to begin at 11:00 am, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, NY 12205. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
