ALBANY - Marie A. (Morlock) Richburg, 91, peacefully passed into eternal life on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Albany Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. She was surrounded by her loving sons.
Marie was a lifelong resident of Albany, NY living in the same home for her entire 91 years. She was the youngest daughter of the late Peter Morlock and Mary (Reis) Morlock. She was a graduate of Albany High School. Marie worked for the Trading Port Supermarket and later the NYS Department of Labor. She was married on August 9, 1947 to the late Howard H. Richburg. They were married for 46 years before his passing in 1994. After having their first child, Marie became a full time homemaker and mother. Marie's first love was her family, always placing them first. She loved working in her yard and taking care of her flowers. She was always able to put a smile on anyone's face and everyone loved her stories of her childhood. She was a long time member of Our Lady of Angels Church. She is survived by her two sons, Howard J. Richburg of Guilderland, his fiancée Andrea Delf; Robert J. Richburg of East Greenbush, his wife Diane; her grandchildren, Matthew, Katherine and Jessica; a great granddaughter, Madison and 30 nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by seven brothers and sisters; Sophie Kerrigan, Mildred Monforte, Helen Decker, Thomas, Joseph, and Frank Morlock.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. Monday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie then to Christ the King Church, 20 Sumpter Ave., Guilderland. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The parish family of Christ the King Church will gather at 4:30 p.m. for a service of prayer and remembrance on Sunday at the funeral home. All are welcome.
