ALBANY- Marie-Anne Malenfant entered into eternal life on Wednesday, January 4, 2023. She was born in Metz, Moselle, France in 1940, the daughter of the late Joseph and Lucie (Paul) Wagner. She was raised and educated in France, and married Wilfred N. Malenfant (Norman) of Albany, NY, in her hometown of Gorze, France in 1958, coming to the United States in 1959. She worked for the NYS Unified Court System for a total of 36 years, 32 of which were at the New York State Court of Claims, from which she retired in 2010. Prior to her employment with the NYS Unified Court System, she worked for seven years at the Albany County Board of Elections. She was a communicant of The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Albany.
Predeceasing her in addition to her parents was her husband, her daughter Deborah A. Malenfant, as well as her brother-in-law Jean-Claude Fecteau, formerly of Black Lake, P.Q., Canada. She is survived by her son Norman J. Malenfant of Clifton Park (Alisa); by Michael Malenfant, his wife Janet and their four children, Sarah, Jessica, Sean, and Mikayla, of Averill Park, NY, with whom she shared a special relationship; by her brother-in-law Donald J. Malenfant and his wife Joan of Fort Myers, Florida, two nieces, Renée Belanger and Monique Malenfant, numerous cousins in France and in Canada and many treasured longtime friends.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205 on Friday January 13, 2023 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a memorial service to follow. Interment will be at St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands, NY.
