Marie C. James

Colonie- Marie C. James, 81, died Wednesday, September 20, 2006 after a long illness. Marie was born on September 19, 1925 in East Schodack, NY. She was the daughter of the late Alcide and Aline (MarcAurele Cote. Marie retired as a clerk for the New York State Department of Education, in 1980. She was a Cub Scout leader for over ten years, and enjoyed teaching ceramics to family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Robert E. James and her son, Timothy N. James. Marie is survived by her children, Edward (Barbara Young) James of Sacandaga Lake, Therese (Thomas) Doherty of Brant Lake, Janet Stark of Albany, and Norman (Kathleen Cauette) James of Ballston Lake; also survived by 18 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; her brothers Paul Cote of New Jersey, Joseph Cote of Utica, and Andrew Cote of California.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie(Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). A calling hour will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Gerald B.H. Solomon - Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Community Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Union Street, Schenectady, NY 12308 in memory of Marie C. James.
