Marie C. Wies

COLONIE – Marie C. Wies, 82, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2014, at home with her loving family by her side. Born in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Jenny Flory. Marie was a bookkeeper for many years, but more importantly, she was a proud Marine Corps wife. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and doting grandmother who loved spending time with her family.


Marie was the beloved wife and best friend of the late Lawrence R. Wies who predeceased her in 2003. She is the devoted mother of Lawrence Jr. and his wife, Loraine of Saratoga Springs and Michele Schuff and her husband, Donald of Colonie. Marie is the cherished grandmother of Scott (Bethany) Wies and Katie Schuff and step-grandmother of Phillip (Laura), Jason and Steven Schuff. She is the loving great-grandmother of Audriana. Marie is the sister of Clementine Pasquerella. Also surviving is her best friend, Betty Mealy as well as several nieces and nephews. Marie's family would like to acknowledge her caregiver, Elsa for her loving devotion and attention.


Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will precede the service from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Albany Medical Center, 43 New Scotland Ave., Albany, NY 12208 in memory of Marie C. Wies.
