COLONIE – Marie C. Emmerling, 92, of Colonie, passed away on Sunday, July 3, 3005 at the Kingsway Arms Nursing Home. Born in Cold Spring, NY, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Margaret Chiarella. Marie was a resident of Colonie for most of her life. Mrs. Emmerling worked for the New York State Dept. of Civil Service until her retirement in 1974. After retiring, she moved to Florida where she was active in the Mid Florida Lakes Boat Club. She returned to Colonie in 1983 and became a member of the Colonie Silver Streakers. She enjoyed singing, line dancing, playing keyboard and bowling. Marie was the beloved wife of the late F. Douglas Emmerling. She is the devoted mother of Nancy Hull and her husband, Vernon of Kingston, Debra Wood and her husband, Mitchell of Rexford and the late Anthony Emmerling. She is the mother-in-law of Gloria Emmerling of Texas and the sister of Marguerite Hupcey of New Jersey. She is the cherished grandmother of Debra Collins, Anthony Emmerling, Jr., Brian Emmerling, Leah Hull, Sarah Hull, Teresa Wood, Michelle Herrero and the late David Hull. Also surviving is one great-grandson.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be in Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to Community Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Union Street, Schenectady, NY 12308 in memory of Marie C. Emmerling.
