Marie J. Mahoney

ALBANY - Marie J. Mahoney, age 92, passed away on November 15, 2022. She was born on June 25, 1930. She was predeceased by her husband Richard Mahoney and son Sean Mahoney. She grew up in Albany, where she made a wonderful home for her family for many years. She was a medical records clerk, a lunch lady, but she excelled at being a homemaker. She was an amazing Italian cook, never utilizing a recipe to whip up delicious meals for her family and friends for holidays, special occasions, or whenever someone just needed to be fed. She was a selfless, loving person who always greeted you with a smile and a plate of her famous spaghetti and meatballs. She adored her family. She is survived by her sons Richard (Denise) Mahoney and Daniel Mahoney, Grandchildren Marissa Mahoney, Shay Mahoney, Alex Wilkes-Mahoney, and Kylee Mueller, as well as her brother-in-law Frank Esser and a host of cherished nieces and nephews, their families and many cousins and friends. She was a devout Catholic, spending her life worshipping at the St Teresa of Avila and Mater Christi Parishes. Her strong faith in God helped through many of life's challenges.

A special thank you to Erica Skorupski, who was such a help to Marie for many years, taking care of anything she needed, especially her perfectly coiffed hairdo that Erica would keep beautiful. You were priceless to her and us, Erica.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at 11am. Committal service will follow at 1:30pm at Gerald B.H.
