Marie E. O'Neil-Rotolo
November 2, 1921 — February 26, 2018
Colonie- Marie O Neil- Rotolo, 96 yrs., passed away peacefully on Monday Feb 26, 2018.
A graduate of Bethlehem Central H.S. Known as an Artist, her Art work was accepted at Boston Univ. During WW II, her parents did not have the money to send her, so Marie went to work for General Electric making Airplane parts.
She married J.H. Loucks. Together she had five children in 7 1/2 years. She worked at the Electric Co they started ending in divorce. Being a single parent for 6 yrs., Marie started work at N.Y.S. Health Dept. working her way up to a Sr Lab Technician for 30 yrs. She was a talented seamstress by night making Wedding gowns, Delmar Fife & Drum Uniforms and Prom gowns for her girls.
On a bowling league, she met her second husband, Francis E. O Neil. This wonderful man loved Marie and her children, adopting the last three. He introduced her to fishing, camping, target shooting and helped her obtain her Flying License. He died in a tragic car accident.
During her Retirement Marie took up watercolors and building beautiful doll houses.
Later in life married Vincent S. Rotolo, deceased.
Marie is survived by her children, Dayle Vaughan, Dawne Lefco Jubic, Dave, Marsha Forman O Neil, Donna Bloomer and James O Neil, Heather. Sister Leslye Hauf, Calif. Grandchildren Tom Lefco, Michelle Hammond, Brent Forman, Matthew Forman, Ryan Bloomer, Nicholas Bloomer, Garrett Bloomer and Jennifer Euchner, 13 Great Grandchildren and special friend Cheryl Sheehan, many nieces and nephews. Marie was predeceased by her parents, Wm Perry Willis, Florence Martin Willis; her Granddaughter, Marie Lefco and infant grandson, Leslie Vaughan and her brother, Dean Perry Willis.
Funeral services for Marie will be held on Monday, March 5, 2018 at 1pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, 12205. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home prior to the service starting at 11am. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens, Albany.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave. Menands, NY, 12204.
