Marie T. Restifo

Albany- Marie T. (Zikides) Restifo, 89, was called home on Monday, January 2, 2017. Marie was born on Feburary 6, 1927 to the late Laura (Côté) and Thomas Zikides, who were immigrants from Canada and Greece.
She was a graduate of Cathedral Academy in Albany as well as of Mildred Elly Business school. She was manager of the family owned bakery, Deluxe Pie Company in Albany for many years starting as a young adult. She was also employed by Blue Cross Blue Shield of New York for 19 years as a secretary.
She married her beloved husband, Dominick C. Restifo on August 21, 1954. Dominick predeceased her in 2001.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Laurie Anne Kotecki, her cherished granddaughter, Courtney Marie Kotecki, brother-in-law, Benjamin Restifo, and her niece Marianne Zarelli and her family.
She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Kara A. Kotecki in 2011 who she adored.
She was a devoted Yankee fan, enjoyed bingo, bocci ball, and music. Her love was Frank Sinatra. She was a true matriarch and helped raise her granddaughters alongside her daughter, Laurie, who had the challenge of being a single mother.
Private funeral services were held.
