Marie T. Ryan

Westerlo- Marie T. Ryan, 64, passed away peacefully after a battle against pancreatic cancer she was very determined to flight on Monday, December 4, 2017 at St. Peter's Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born on October 11, 1953 in Albany, the daughter of the late John J. and AnnMarie McCarthy Kosakoski. A lifelong resident of the area, Marie graduated from Cardinal McCloskey High School, class of 1971. Marie went on to earn her Associate's degree from Maria College where she became a Registered Nurse, which left to a career lasting over forty years with geriatric patients. The past twelve years Marie worked as an RN/MDS Coordinator for the Teresian House.
Marie had a love for animals; with her family owning a hobby farm, which included horses, goats and pigs amongst other animals. She loved to garden, paint, craft, do crossword puzzles, and bake, especially chocolate chip cookies. Most of all, she was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend who will be sadly missed.
Survivors include her loving family, husband of 40 years, John Ryan; daughters, Jennifer and Amanda Ryan; twin brother, John Kosakoski; mother-in-law, Charlotte Ryan; sister-in-law who was like a sister to her, Kathleen "Kitty" Gill (husband Lawrence).
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 10, 2017 from 4pm to 7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A funeral service for Marie will be held on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 10 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont.
