Marie Spada

Watervliet- Marie Rucki Spada Morrissey, 64, passed away unexpectedly on August 12, 2013. Born August 28, 1948 in NYC, she was the daughter of the late Robert Rucki of NYC and Eleanor (Bender) Rucki of Stone Ridge, NY. Marie graduated from Rondout Valley High School and SUNY New Paltz with a teaching degree. Marie, affectionately known as Schatz by her family, taught English for 10 years in the Kingston City School System and then began a very successful second career as Reimbursement Agent for the NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services, retiring in 2010.

Schatzi leaves behind her husband, Richard Morrissey (Mr. Wonderful), of Avon, CT. She enjoyed her role as stepmother and step grandmother. The oldest of seven siblings, she is also survived by her sister Barbra Kingsley of Eagle Bridge, NY; Robin Rucki of Stone Ridge, NY; and brothers, Guy Rucki of Latham, NY; Robert Rucki of Hurley, NY; Tom Rucki of Kingston, NY and Ted Rucki of Kerhonkson. She also leaves behind a very special friend, her sister-in-law, Janet Rucki and several nieces and nephews who said she gave the best Christmas presents ever.
