Albany – Marie Wagner, 92, passed away peacefully Friday August 6, 2010 at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center.
Marie was born in Colonie the daughter of the late Pauline and Henry Nitz and was a lifelong area resident. She worked for the South Colonie School District for ten years and was a long time member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Through the church, Marie volunteered by crocheting for the Linus Project and making pillows for the heart transplant patients of Albany Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of the late George Wagner who predeceased her in 1971.
Marie is survived by her daughters: Jane (Joe) Gregware, Nancy Wagner and Susan (Ike) Wallace, son Robert (Nancy Hoeltzel), grandchildren: Amanda, Dan, Joe, Natalie, Amy and Stephanie, great-grandson William, sisters: Wilhemina Bruce and Martha Miles. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sisters Johanna Mead and Helen Conaway.
The funeral service will be Monday 10:00am at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church #2 Shaker El, Loudonville. Calling hours will be Sunday 2:00 to 5:00pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
