Mariel was born on the glorious day of March14th,1989, in Washington, D.C. to Elroy Marcelino and Marie Cecile Christie.
She graduated from Shenendehowa High School and continued her education at Cornell University graduating in 2010 with a Bachelors degree in Biological Sciences
Mariel was a member of the Albany Church of Christ and loved God, her family, and her friends. Mariel's life appeared too short to many, but those who were touched by her understood the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives.
Mariel's brilliance lead her to have many interests such as reading, math, the sciences, art, and catching "random" wild animals, just to name a few. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who were blessed by her presence and influence.
Mariel is kept alive in memory by her parents, Elroy and Marie Christie, her siblings, Maya, Marcelino, Marys, and Maxwell, and all who loved and cared for her.
Visitation hours will be Saturday from 11am -12:30 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie, NY. All who knew and loved Mariel are welcome to attend. Celebration of life services will be held on Saturday, July 17th, 2010 at 1:00 pm at the Albany Church of Christ, 30 Russell Road (between Sand Creek Rd. & Exchange Street) Colonie. Minister Kerry Morris will officiate. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens.
