ALBANY- Marilyn A. Killelea, 69, of Albany, passed away peacefully on Thursday August 23, 2007, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Albany and grew up in Ravena where she enjoyed her youth at her family's farm and swimming at the Ravena pool. Marilyn was a 1956 graduate of the Cathedral Academy and a graduate of Albany Medical School of Radiology. She was the Coordinator of Data Processing at Albany Memorial Hospital for several years, retiring in 2000. Marilyn was a former member and secretary of the Parish Council at Blessed Sacrament Church. She was a religious education instructor at the church and assisted with CYO Girls basketball.
Marilyn is the beloved wife of 48 years to Ronald Killelea. She is the adored mother of A. Ronald Killelea Jr. of Schenectady, Joan (Paul) Mance of Albany, Tracy Killelea (Danielle Rowe) of Guilderland, Richard Killelea (Jayne McClinton) of San Diego, CA., and James (Kimberly) Killelea of Natick, MA. She is the cherished grandmother of Nicole, Lauren and Colin Mance; Kiara and Karina Killelea. Marilyn is the sister of Janet (Carmin) Vasto of Ravena and the late Linda Amedio. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to the wonderful physicians and nurses on the 4th floor at St. Peters Hospital who cared for Marilyn with genuine compassion and support.
Funeral services will be Monday morning at 8:00 at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave) then to Blessed Sacrament Church at 9:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Sunday from 3 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorys Garden.
