ALBANY - Marilyn Ann (Bell) Allyn, 77, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, March 4, 2009.
Marilyn was born on August 4, 1931 in Mansfield, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Clayson Dewitt and Mary Naomi (Wigton) Bell. She was a graduate of the Ohio State University and a member of the Alpha Phi Sorority. Always a perfect lady, she was a home economics teacher and a home maker. Her hobbies included textiles, painting, cooking and the fine arts. Marilyn enjoyed traveling and antiquing with Richard for 54 plus years. She was a survivor of HHT (Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia).
Marilyn is survived by her loving husband, Richard Hall Allyn of Albany; her son, William Clay Allyn and his wife Brenda of Westminster, MD; her daughters, M. Lizabeth Allyn of Seven Stars, PA and Rebecca Ann (Allyn) Maguire and her husband Chuck of Richmond, VA; her brother, David Elbert Bell and his wife Augie of Cranberry Township, PA; her four grandchildren, Steven, Meagan, Ryan and Leeanna and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church, 181 Western Ave., Albany. Interment will follow at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville. Calling hours will be held at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Abiding Memorial Fund at First Lutheran Church, 646 State St., Albany, NY 12203 in memory of Marilyn Ann Allyn.
