COLONIE – Marilyn Buhrmaster Gilbertson, 77, a resident of Colonie since 1956, died on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at The Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital, after a long illness with lung disease.
Born on August 29, 1930 in Scotch Bush, NY, she was a graduate of Wilbur Lynch High School in Amsterdam - Class of 1947 and SUNY Buffalo - Class of 1951.
She was predeceased by her parents, Roy and Marguerite Buhrmaster and her sister, Elizabeth Teetz. She is survived by her daughter, Kristin Singley of Sand Lake; her former husband, Laurence Gilbertson; niece, Cathy Macek of Glen, NY and her four children; niece, Cheryl Morgan of Brandon, Fla. and her three children; nephew, William Dievendorf of Currytown, NY; cousin, Jean Brown of Amsterdam and dear friend, Gail Dallas.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks and gratitude to St. Peter's Hospital Pulmonary Rehab Department, especially Alice Abrams, RN for giving her the strength and courage to live an independent and fruitful life despite her debilitating disability.
At her request a graveside service will be private at a later date. She will join other family members in the Chuctanunda Cemetery in Minaville, NY.
