Marilyn Edwards passed away on Thursday, April 12, at home with her family in attendance. Marilyn was born in Granville, NY to Florence and Nelson Jenkins. She graduated from Granville High School in 1948. After completing Mildred Elley Secretarial School, she worked at the New York State Education Department.
In 1952, Marilyn married Roger Edwards, a high school classmate. When her children were born, she chose to become a stay-at-home mother. In 1958, the family moved to a neighborhood of other young families in the village of Colonie.
Marilyn was a member of the Pine Grove United Methodist Church where she served as a communion steward and later as financial secretary. Also, she was a Girl Scout leader for several years.
Marilyn enjoyed the family's annual vacation at Lake St. Catherine, VT and hosting holiday dinners. She loved bowling in several leagues and was a member of the 600 club. She spent many happy times hiking, canoeing, and wilderness camping with her family. In their retirement years, Marilyn and Roger traveled extensively. They visited all but two of the United States and several foreign countries, including a safari in Kenya and a trip to Antarctica.
Marilyn was predeceased by her sister Eleanor Jenkins. She is survived by Roger, her husband of 65 years; three daughters, Nancy Edwards, Susan Edwards (Richard), and Lori O'Brien (James); six grandchildren, Michael Drucker (Salena), Ben Drucker, Megan Bradley, Casey Bradley (Heather), Andre Dacier, and Tara O'Brien; and three great-grandchildren, Raymond Dacier, and Torin and Orla Drucker.

Calling hours will be held at Pine Grove United Methodist Church on Central Avenue at 11:00 on Friday, April 20, followed by a service at noon. Internment will be in the Mettowee Valley Cemetery in Granville, NY, at a later date.
