Marilyn Jane Tanski, passed away in her home with her family at her side on Monday, November 9, 2015. Marilyn was born September 24, 1933, Albany, New York to William F. and Virginia (Martin) Luther, both deceased. She was the 4th of seven children and the oldest daughter. She married her high school sweetheart, Thomas Tanski, also of Albany, NY, in Biloxi, MS, Dec. 13, 1952 and they settled and raised their family in Hurst, TX. Thomas preceded her in death on Aug 12, 1983. Marilyn retired from her position as Secretary to the Commander of the Dept. of the Army at Bell Helicopter in 2005 and from her position at Sear's North East Mall in 2007. She remained in her home on Holder Drive until her death and will be fondly remembered by her co-workers and lifelong neighbors. She is survived by many members of her Texas and New York family. In Texas, by her three daughters and two sons-in-law, William F. and Bonnie A. Campbell, Robert S. and Terri M. Dalton, and Lori Tanski, her three grandsons, William Arron Campbell, Robert Adam Dalton and Thomas Austin Dalton. In Albany, she is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Connie Luther, and her sister, Diane Luther, and by many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205, on Saturday, November 14, 2015 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM with a burial immediately following. Marilyn will be buried beside her Husband in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.
