COLONIE - Marilyn L. Belles, 76, of Colonie, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2009.
Mrs. Belles retired from the New York State Department of Audit & Control after more than 20 years. She was a member of the Fuller Road Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was a skilled seamstress and had a passion for gardening. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church in Colonie.
Marilyn was predeceased by her beloved husband of 58 years, Harold E. Belles. She is the devoted mother of Paul Belles and his wife Gail of Averill Park, Greg Belles and his wife Diana of Cary, N.C. and the late Ronald E. Belles and Patricia A. Bowles. Marilyn is the devoted grandmother of Michaela, Daniel and Nicholas Belles, Angie Francis and Lindsay Belles, Sarah, Theodore and Nathaniel Belles and Jennifer Bowles. She is the loving great-grandmother of Meya Francis. She is the mother-in-law of Mary Jo Belles of Loudonville and George Bowles of Guilderland. She is the sister of Kenneth Amsler of Tucson, AZ.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday morning at 11:00 at Our Lady of Mercy Church. Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
