ALBANY - Marilyn Markus-Rafter, 66, of Albany died Friday December 27 at the St. Peter's Hospice Inn.
She was born to the late Theodore and Helen Markus, Nov. 11, 1947, in Albany, NY. Marilyn graduated from Linton High School in 1966 and received a BA and MA in Education from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh. She married David Rafter in 1987 and they lived together in Albany, New York.
Marilyn was a second grade school teacher in the Ravena Coeymans Selkirk Central School District for 30 years until her retirement.
Marilyn is survived by her husband David, her brother Ted Markus and sister-in-law Carol Markus of Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Memorial Services on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 1:30 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie.
The family is requesting that memorial donations be made to the St.Peter's ALS Regional Center, 19 Warehouse Road, Albany, NY 12205 alsregionalcenter@stpetershealthcare.org
