Marilynn W. Avery

Guilderland - Marilynn W. Avery, 72, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 23, 2019 with her loving family by her side. Marilynn was the daughter of the late Lucius Smith and Ella Ostrander. Marilynn was the devoted wife to Robert Avery, Jr. She was well loved by her grandchildren, with whom she spent lots of quality time.

Marilynn was a devoted and well loved employee of Price Chopper for over 37 years, forming a life time bond with many co- workers. Marilynn was a 1965 graduate of Guilderland High School. Marilynn was a lover of all animals and would help any animal in need.

Marilynn is survived by her children, Gary (Jody) Rivenburg, AnneMarie (Kenneth) Prouty, and Shannon (Travis Forester) Avery; her grandchildren, Nathaniel and Camden Spiewak, Sierra Flowers, Rachael and Danielle Rivenburg, Avery Ware and Taylor Forester; one great grandchild, Grayson Kranick and many loving family and friends.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the entire staff of Teresian House for their compassion and care to Marilynn.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, on Sunday, April 28, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, April 29, 2019 at 10:00 am . Interment will follow the service at Schenectady Memorial Cemetery. Officiating over the services will be Pastor Kimberly C. Hall.
