Mario F. D'Arpino, 79, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 25, 2013 at the Daughters of Sarah Nursing home with his loving family by his side. Mario was born in Voorheesville, and was the son of the late Francesco and Incornata (Bologna) D'Arpino. Mario was a resident of Guilderland and Port Saint Lucie, Fl. He graduated from Voorheesville High School and proudly served with the United States Marines during the Korean conflict with the 1st Marine Air Wing. He worked at the Watervliet Arsenal and retired after 37 years as an Industrial Electric Mechanic Foreman. He was a member of the Arsenal foreman association and served 22 years in the Voorheesville fire department and then 3 years as past chief of the department.
In addition to his parents Mario was predeceased by his sister, Frances D'Arpino and his brothers Kenneth and Joseph D'Arpino.
Mario is survived by his four devoted daughters, Frances DeLeon, Patricia (David) Palmer, Barbara (Paul) D'Arpino-Leto and Mary (Michael) DeAngelis. He is the proud grandfather of Shauna, Jeremiah, Nicholas, Tori, Nancy, Macie, Giuliana, William, Michele, Theodora and Alexandra, his cherished great granddaughter Sophia, his two brothers Frank and Anthony (Dorothy) D'Arpino. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Voorheesville Fire department, 12 Altamont Rd, Voorheesville, NY in Mario's memory.
At the family's request funeral services were private at the convenience of the family and burial was in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
