Marion C. Anderson

Marion C. Anderson, 89, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peters in Albany.

Marion was born and raised in Colonie to George Henry and Catherine Rose (Simpson) Landers. She met her husband, Arthur on a blind date during WWII and they were married for 63 years. Marion was a plane spotter here in Colonie, during WWII. She was a cherished mother and grandmother and was a great home maker which was her greatest joy. She loved flowers, camping, crafts, baking, and her cherished cat, Mr. Boots. She enjoyed singing with her husband, Art, in the Anderson Family Band and shooting pool with her husband where he would often refer to her as "Glenmont Marion".

In addition to her parents Marion is predeceased by her Husband, Arthur Anderson, who passed away in March 2009, her siblings Loretta Mae Landers, William Landers, Catherine Landers and Agnes Dessormeau.

Marion is survived by her children, Wayne (Joey) Anderson, Judy (Jim) Healey, Susan (Terry) Rodd, Cathy Anderson and Arthur Jr. (Kim) Anderson. She is the cherished grandmother of seventeen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial on Monday at 9:00 am at St. Clare's Church, Colonie. Calling hours will be Sunday from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be at Calvary cemetery in Glenmont following the Mass. The family would like to thank the nurses at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital for all of their loving care for their mother.
