Marion (Rothaupt) Clas of Delmar, N.Y., born February 6, 1927 and died Monday, January 3, 2011 at St. Peter's Hospital after a long illness at the Good Samaritan Lutheran Health Care Center. She was wife of the late Paul G. Clas and John J. Thull. She was born in Albany, daughter of the late George and Hannah Perry Rothaupt. She worked with a long career with the NY Telephone Co. and its successor corporations. She was a very active member of the Bethany Reformed Church, a very long volunteer at St. Peter's Hospital and the Proctors Theatre in Schenectady, and a life member of the Verizon Pioneers. She was sister of the late Kenneth, Robert, Perry and Eugene Rothaupt, Edith Gray and Ruth McNally; sister-in-law of the late Jacqueline Marshall, Raymond Gray and Thomas B. McNally. Survived by four step-daughters, Peggy (Ronald) McCarthy, Carol DeFillippo, Paula (Michael) Catellier, Dawn Clas; sisters-in-law, Margaret Hunter, Eileen Oliver; and several nieces and nephews. Friends and family are invited to a calling hour from 10 - 11 a.m. Thursday, January 6 at the Bethany Reformed Church, 760 New Scotland Ave., Albany, N.Y. which will be followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11 a.m. Burial will be at the Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont, N.Y. Memorial gifts of flowers or contributions may be made to the Bethany Reformed Church.
