COLONIE-Marion I. Collins, 72, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2013 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital. She was born in Gloucester, England, the daughter of the late Albert E. and Amy L. (Norman) Sutlow. Marion met her beloved husband, Jim in England. Jim was stationed there in the US Air Force. Just under a year later they were married on June 18, 1963. Marion and Jim lived all over the United States and overseas, during Jim's time in the Air Force. She enjoyed gardening and nature. Marion also enjoyed listening to music and visiting with her friends. She especially enjoyed spending time with her beloved grandchildren.
Marion is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years Jimmy D. Collins; her loving daughters Theresa Collins (Jamie Martin) and Lorna Collins-Mihill (Vernon Mihill); her cherished grandchildren Colin James Mihill and Duncan Collins Martin. She is also survived by her brothers Tony Sutlow (Wendy), Derrick Sutlow (Teresa), Geoffrey Sutlow (Jeanette) and Roger Sutlow and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Marion was predeceased by her sister Susan Jones.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 PM on Friday, November 15, 2013 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Breast Cancer Research, Leukemia/Lymphoma Society or to Community Hospice of Albany in memory of Marion.
