Niskayuna, NY - Marjorie Ann (Cameron) Diefendorf, 91, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2016 with family present. Born in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Alvah and Dorothy Cameron of Rotterdam, NY. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Irving Charles Diefendorf, Jr. who died September 10, 1968.
Marjorie was a graduate of Draper High School, Schenectady, Class of 1942. She worked at Youth Fair for many years while raising her children. She then was employed at Blue Cross of NENY, retiring after 18 years only to continue working at St. Peter's Hospital in Patient and Family Services for 18 years, retiring at age 80.
Marjorie is survived by her children, Nan (Jeffrey Weltz), Mark (Barbara), Marie (Michael Breen), and Paul. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Christian (Wendy), Jacob (Sarah), Allie and Tess Diefendorf, Terri and Lisa Sawyer, Brian (Melissa) Weltz, Kevin (Suzanne) and Erin Breen, Kaitlin (Matthew) Gulino and Jessica (Arthur) Tabakian. She is also survived by 12 great- grandchildren. Marjorie was also predeceased by her brother, Warren Cameron, her daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Larry Sawyer, and her daughter-in-law, Bonnie Diefendorf.
She loved to play pinochle and canasta, root for the NY Yankees, and never forgot anyone's birthday. Her family was the center of her life and she loved and adored everyone.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Christ the King Catholic Church at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 9th. A calling hour will precede the mass at 9:00 am at the Church. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens.
