Marjorie C. Derusso

East Greenbush – Marjorie C. (West) DeRusso, 96, of East Greenbush, passed away peacefully on Wednesday December 26, 2012 at Rosewood Gardens Nursing Center.
She was born in Chestertown and resided in Chatham and Albany, NY. Marge was the daughter of the late Francis C. and Cora L. Walton West. Marge was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Austin G. DeRusso in 1996 and was the sister of the late C. Richard West, Ruth W. Olmstead and Kenneth W. West. She is the sister in law of the late Regina R. Bachinsky and Gloria M. Kelly
She was a graduate of Albany High School. Marge enjoyed a thirty five year career with Addressograph Multigraph Veritype Corp. and also worked in the finance office at Ft. Sill Oklahoma, during the Korean War. She was life member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Queensbury for 77 consecutive years. Marge was also a life member of the Melvin Roads #1231 Ladies Auxiliary, VFW #7337 Ladies Auxiliary, and a charter member of the Legion Riders, Gerald O'Neil Post #1683. She enjoyed watching her New York Yankees.
She is survived by her devoted son, Kevin M. DeRusso. Marge is the beloved aunt of Wayne J. (Francine) Kelly and their children, Chantal F. Ortagus, Adriana Connors and Bryan W. Kelly, Pamela M. Kelly, Gregory J. Bachinsky, Patty Rivenburgh, Barbara Ranzoni, Dean West and Donna Packet. Marge is also survived by her adopted son Thomas J. (Mary Anne) Grago and their daughters, Melody, Jessica and Christina. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Funeral services will be Friday at 8:30 am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie then to St. Jude the Apostle Church, Wynantskill at 9:30 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National VA Cemetery, Schuylerville.
