Albany_Marjorie E. Catalfamo, 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, December 7, 2015.
She was born on November 24, 1924 to the late John and Mary Slopka in Oppenheim, NY.
Marjorie grew up in Oppenheim, while living in her hometown she worked for the Daniel Green Co. She relocated to Albany to attend school and earned her Associates Degree in Business. On June 4, 1955 she married Philip N. Catalfamo and they were lifelong residents in Albany. After earning her degree Margie worked at the Dept. of Motor Vehicles until she had children. Marge was a devoted wife and mother, she enjoyed many family vacations, antiquing and gardening. After raising her family she worked for the NYS Dept. of Taxation and Finance.
Marge was active in the church and was always volunteering to help with various activities.
Marjorie is survived by her loving husband Philip; her children, Debbie Catalfamo, David Catalfamo, Dawn (John) Simon, Dori (Leonardo) Parla; her grandchildren, Christopher and Sarah Parla; her sisters, Betty and Mary and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by siblings, Helen, Dorothy, Joseph, Steven, John, Frank and Harry.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 14, 2015 from 10-11am at the Teresian House, 200 Washington Ave. Ext., Albany, NY 12203. A funeral service to honor Marjorie will begin following visitation at 11am at the Teresian House. Interment will be held on Monday at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
