Albany – Marjorie E. Blaum, died February 2, 2011 at St. Peter's Hospital.
Born in Cohoes, NY on August 25, 1920, the daughter of the late William A. and F. Maude Best. She was the wife of the late William Joseph Blaum. She was a graduate of the Cohoes High School class of 1938 and Albany Business College in 1939. Marjorie retired from New York State, Department of Health Bureau of Disease Control in 1983.
She was a member of the Alpha Iota International Business Society, Willitta Chapter No. 213, Order of the Eastern Star, Latham, Capital City Court No. 15, Order of the Amaranth, Albany and the Women's Seal and Stamp Club of Albany. She was also a member of Emmaus United Methodist Church, Albany.
She is survived by her two cousins Mrs. Merilyn (William) Niles and Mr. John Best both of Latham.
The funeral service will be held Monday 6:00pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service Monday 4:00 to 6:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Emmaus United Methodist Church 715 Morris St., Albany, NY 12208.
