Marjorie D. (Sloan) Kessler, 90, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at the Community Hospice Inn at St. Peters Hospital. She went peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Albany to the late Walter and A. Hazel Sloan. Marjorie lived with her daughter and son-in-law in Knox for the last 18 years. She graduated from Albany High School and Albany Business College. She worked briefly with National Commercial Bank, and then was a home maker for the past 67 years, long time member of the West End Presbyterian Church in Albany for 77 years. She taught Sunday school and was also the Jr. Choir Director for many years. Marjorie was also very active with the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts with Paul and Diane.
Marjorie is survived by her son, Paul R. Kessler, (Dorothy) of Westerlo, her daughter Diane Fahd, (Donald) of Knox, 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Paul Kessler of 45 years before passing in 1988 and her brother, Walter T. Sloan.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at the Community Hospice Inn at St. Peters for all of the care and compassion given to Marjorie and her family.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday at 12:00 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 10 am to 12 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Memory Gardens, Colonie. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association 440 New Karner Rd., Colonie, NY 12205 in Marjorie's memory.
