Marjorie "Marge"A. Rulison

April 27, 1923 — April 9, 2012

GUILDERLAND – Marjorie "Marge" Annabella Rulison, 88, died on Monday, April 9, 2012 after a nine year battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Marge was born April 27, 1923 to Knute and Annabelle (Greig) Havnen in Albany. Marge grew up in Albany and graduated from Watervliet High School in 1941. On July 5, 1943, she married the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Rulison, the proverbial boy next door. Marge was always full of energy and worked two jobs for many years while raising her three children. Over the years those jobs included waitressing at Alteri's Restaurant in Selkirk and Hoffman's Restaurant in Latham, and being a bookkeeper for Nabisco on Fuller Road. She began her State career with the Department of Labor and retired from the Department of Motor Vehicle at the Empire State Plaza in 1983. Marge also loved many crafts and ceramics, and was a member of the Home Bureau. She loved to travel. Marge made friends easily and stayed close to everyone throughout her life. She was also a long time member and very active in the McKownville United Methodist Church.
Marge welcomed everyone into her home, treated everyone as family and had an extended family herself. Marge was predeceased by her parents, her younger brother, Gordon; her step-mother, Kathryn and her sister, Karen Morgan. She was also predeceased by her husband, Bob of nearly 67 years on February 14, 2009. She is survived by her children, Robert G. (Jo-Ann) Rulison, Jim (Linda) Rulison and Shari (Ron) Keller; her grandchildren, Mark, Eric and Steven (Lori Massa) Rulison, Kris & Kelly Rulison, Scott, Jennifer and Jon Keller and Bonnie Keller Biek; six great-grandchildren, and her siblings, Rick, David, and Peter Havnen, Jeannie Hopkins and Vicki Evenson and their families.
Many thanks to the staff of Guadalupe Unit of Our Lady of Mercy Life Center in Guilderland for their loving and devoted care during her long battle with Alzheimer's.
