ALBANY - Marjorie A. Meyer, 88, passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at the Van Rensselaer Manor Nursing Home in North Greenbush.
Marjorie was born on May 6, 1933 in Hicksville, NY, the daughter of the late Stephen J. and Margaret A. (Fox) Meyer.
Marjorie graduated from Mount St. Mary's College in New Hampshire with a bachelor's degree, Keene State College in New Hampshire with a Master's degree in counseling and Sage College with a Master's degree in Nursing. She was the Dean of Nursing at SUNY Albany for over 9 years before retiring. After she retired, she worked for the VA Hospital in Manhattan. She loved sailing, gardening and spending time with friends.
Marjorie is survived by her dear friends, Carol Francis, MaryLee Hayner and Sandy Carman. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her very dear friend, Nancy Moore.
A graveside committal service was held on August 11, 2021 at Holy Rood Cemetery, Westbury NY.
