Marjorie E. Schramek

Waterford- Marjorie E. Schramek, 90, passed away peacefully at the Teresian House on Sunday, May 2, 2021. Born and raised in Watervliet, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mae (Hayes) Schillinger. Marge is predeceased by her husband of 64 years, William Schramek and their daughter Debra Schramek (Daniel Gonsiewski).

Marjorie was a graduate of Catholic Central High School class of 1948. Marge and Bill were married in 1950 and raised their family in Waterford, NY for 30 years. As a couple they enjoyed extensive traveling with their friends in the "Par-Nil" group. The countless stories of their adventures will be remembered long after. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and a past member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Halfmoon Fire Company and American Legion Post 1450. Marge was a branch manager at Manufacturers Hanover retiring in 1992 and then moved to Lakeland, FL with her husband where they spent the next 20 years golfing and socializing. Marge also enjoyed bowling in her Alpha Lanes Bowling League.

Marjorie is survived by her children; Robert Schramek (Deborah), Christopher Schramek (Jacqueline), Michael Schramek (Victoria) and Karen Muzio (David). She was the loving "Nana" to Sara, Katherine, Gregory, Kellie, Lauren, Lindsey, Todd, Holly, Kaisey, Maggie and Jordan. She is also survived by her 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She is also predeceased by her siblings; Joseph, James, Thomas, George, Nan, Marion, Joan "Sister Rose".

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Marjorie's name to the Teresian House- Dementia Unit, 200 Washington Ave, Albany, NY 12203.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, May 16, 2021 from 3pm-5pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, NY 12189. A memorial service will follow at the funeral home starting at 5pm.
