Marjorie Wood

Watervliet-Marjorie Wood, 86, died Tuesday April 4th at EverGreen Commons Nursing Center after a long illness.


Marjorie was born June 21, 1930 to the late Wrandle and Ruth (Leahy) Valyou. Marjorie was the oldest of 4 children. She was married to the late James Wood in 1946 and lived in Albany most of her life. Marjorie was predeceased by her brothers Howard and Donald Valyou and her sister Joan Grieves.


Marjorie is survived by 5 children, George (Paula) Wood, James (Pamela) Wood, William (Rori) Wood, Danielle (Robert Deming) Wood and Lorraine Blanchard.

She is also survived by 17 Grandchildren: Shannon (Paul) Vincent, Robin Capone, Sarah Wood, Christine (Brian) Sterling, James (Melissa) Wood, Rochelle (Matthew) Guiry, Amy, Kristy, Michael, Daniel and Kimberly Wood. Nichole, Thomas, James, Ashley, Robert and Timothy Blanchard.

24 Great Grandchildren: Heather and Geena Wood, Jordan Vincent, Alexandra, Frank, Meghan and Cameryn Capone and Avery Moore, Kiersten Lamphere, Anthony, Zachary and Gavin Wood, Matthew, Mia and Maximus Guiry, Blaise and Gavin Gayton, Garrett, Jackson, Tenley, Landon, Ava and Hayden Blanchard, Ryan Orsini, Tiernan Seeley and Brynn Conrad.

One Great Great Grandchild Jayce Medina and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at New Comer Funeral Home on New Karner Rd, Colonie on Tuesday April 11th from 4 to 7pm. A brief service will be held April 12th at 10am at New Comer Funeral Home followed by interment at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
