Fort Lauderdale, FL- Mark Joseph Layton, 49, of Florida, formally of Scotia met his Lord and Savior on August 17th, 2015. He was born in Albany and was the son of Suzanne Plantz-Hallinan and William Layton.
Mark spent his first five years in Albany then moved to Scotia with his family where he attended the Scotia Glenville Schools. Mark enjoyed sports, family picnics, boating on Lake George, a love for animals especially his cat Mittens and her kittens. Mark was very artistic and enjoyed drawing and listening to music. Mark was a very warm person and loved everyone he came in contact with. Mark worked many years in the Medical Business field. Mark will be missed by all of his family and friends here in New York and in Florida.
Mark is survived by his mother and step-father Patrick Hallinan, and his father William Layton. Mark is also survived by his siblings; Katherine L. Gurdak (Damian), Michael W. Layton (Tammy), William H. Layton (Alison), Brian T. Layton (Tracey) and Suzette T. Luke (Kevin). Mark is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins as well many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephew.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, August 30th 2015 from 2:00-3:30 at New Comer Funeral Home 343 New Karner Rd. Albany, NY 12205, with a memorial service from 3:30pm-4:00pm. Family and friends will be gathering after the service to continue to celebrate Mark's life.
