Mark L. Weigand

Rotterdam- Mark L. Weigand, 67, passed away on Saturday, March, 17, 2007 at Ellis Hospital. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Ludwig Liabold Weigand and Mildred Moore Weigand. After high school Mark served his country in the United States Coast Guard from 1957 to 1961. Mark went on to work for the United States Postal Service for 25 years retiring as Post Master in Middleburgh. Mark was an Elder at the Cobblestone Reformed Church in Rotterdam, where he served on a number of different committees. He is predeceased by his half brother Gerald Weigand and his half sister Helen Weigand Skinner.
Mark is survived by his two daughters, Veronica A. Weigand and Sondra L. Weigand both of Voorheesville, his three granddaughters, Jocelyn K. Basturescu and her husband Sergiu of New Market, NH, Jenna M. Pleines and Krystal L. Weigand both of Voorheesville.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 9:30 AM at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 3:30 to 7:30 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cobblestone Reformed Church, 118 Putnam Road, Schenectady, NY 12306 in memory of Mark L. Weigand.
